I started using Photoshop when I was 12.
It took me a few more years to realize design could be both a career and hobby. I became lead designer of my high school newspaper and continued freelancing throughout college, when I started working at the Press & Sun Bulletin in Binghamton, NY. I worked with every newsroom department: reporting, photography, and business in addition to design, but saw little opportunity for advancement.
Grad school at Pratt Institute offered a great stepping stone to other industries, and I grew to adore presentation and UI design. My ability to combine gripping copywriting with eye-catching visuals is what sets me apart from other designers.
